This past week, I’ve have had the pleasure of appearing as a guest on a few of my favorite websites: The Sweet Setup and How To Hold A Pencil.
On The Sweet Setup, I had the opportunity to share a behind-the-scenes peek at my workstation. I won’t re-hash it here, but if you’re into the sort of thing you should give it a look. It’s full of nerdery — I assure you.
How To Hold A Pencil is “an interview show with self-taught creatives.” I had the chance to talk a bit about my experience as a self-taught front-end developer, how I got started, and what I would say to folks starting out today. It’s humbling to speak on a show like that, because — to be honest — I still feel like I’m just starting out, myself. (See my recent blog post about impostor syndrome.) I hope that somewhere someone finds it helpful.
And in case you were curious, the desktop wallpaper you see in the photo of my setup is “The Wave” by Nick Eshnaur. A few people have asked, so I thought I’d answer it once and for all.
